Draw a picture with the crayons, and go over the drawing with a wet watercolour brush, cotton swab, or finger to create watercolour effects. Or, draw circles on waxed paper to give your child a custom-made watercolour palette. Another technique would be to draw with the watercolour crayons on wet paper.

This fine blackboard chalk is from Germany. The colours are pure and blend well on the board. The chalk is square and wrapped in a paper that can be peeled off. Colours include: carmine, vermilion, orange, gold yellow, lemon yellow, pale green, dark green, deep blue, blue violet, red violet, red brown, pale brown, black, white, cobalt blue, pale flesh.

These colours correspond with the Stockmar beeswax crayons.

These crayons work well on paper, cloth, other smooth surfaces and glass. They do not  smear and the colours can easily be layered over each other.
